To me, the words pattern and opportunity are synonymous. There are bearish and bullish patterns, both of which can be traded for failure or success and in certain circumstances the same pattern can be traded in each manner. I will therefore not comment in which way a reader should trade a particular pattern but will merely point out the opportunities I see for a trade.  Comments are always appreciated, should I have missed something important in a chart analysis.

The market sold off on Friday albeit in a mild manner, despite raised guidance from Intel (INTC) and a better than expected consumer report. We welcome back Papa T for his view on where we are, and where we may go.

Poor economic data dampened the mood in the early going on Thursday however a surprise snap from the Euro, triggering a dollar plummet and a subsequent oil surge (Say that 3 times fast) sparked a bid under the tape that once again caught early bears off guard. The result was a heck of a hammer and another win for the bulls.

While most investors will see muted headlines this evening, I see warning signs. Under the surface stocks have lost their MoJo and it’s time to take a step back. It may be temporary however I will heed this caution sign.
